My first Destination wedding 👰🏾 🤵🏾was an amazing experience multiplied times ... Well technically it was squared! #HarrisSquared to be exact. Which was the catchy hashtag of Kandace Harris and Trace Harris's beautiful wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica 🇯🇲. "I wanted a fall wedding without the fall weather", Kandace explained. Although the wedding was Memorial Day weekend 🎉🍾 her rich fall colors really looked amazing over the many hues of our melanated skin. Their colors were more about hues and less about having a set color. The base colors were Wine Rust and Navy, but they wanted their guests to have fun with all variations of the color as long as the color was deep. Kandace said she's really big on individual style. "I didn't want every one to look alike, just be in formation"!!! A nod to one of her favorite artists, Queen Bee 🐝, which is only suiting for Royalty. The former Miss Fisk 👸🏾wanted a major aspect of she and Tracy's wedding to be centered around uniqueness and individuality. Which I'm all for especially nowadays when it I fee like most want to do and be just like everyone else. It's refreshing to hear and see people who want to stand out and do something different. Kandace's vision was for her guests to look more like fashion models/ goddesses and less like Flower/Bridesmaids. She said "It doesn't take money to look like money. It takes character and the confidence to own it and pull it off!" From the aspect of wanting her guests to look like runway models and goddess to knowing that it doesn't take tons of money to have exquisite style but just a great eye for fashion. Which is such a testament that she's my special sister in our sorority and goes to show the royal blood line is pretty evident. We stayed at the beautiful Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall Resort and it was absolutely breathtaking. The ceremony took place on the rooftop of one of the areas at the resort and the cocktail hour was on the beach. The guests were pretty much all in formation and I think it helped that the couple included a style guide on their wedding website. Even though it was extremely difficult for me to find something I liked 🤷🏾♀️ and that was within what I thought were the guidelines 🤦🏾♀️. The stylist in me went crazy 😜 because whenever there's a "mood board" you want to nail it 🏌🏾♀️. Although a couple guests didn't they were still cute... a mean side eye 😏. Laughing but very serious because it took me a while to find something since I was so adamant about being fashionably appropriate! The flowermaids wore fun wrap dresses that you're able to tie into various styles. While groomsmen wore variations within the color scheme but they all sported classic gold Timex watches. Trace wore a blue suit by Ryan Seacrest Distinction and it was tailored by Toy's Tailoring. The groom's accessories were from a little hidden gem in Nashville, Flip Nashville, a high end consignment shop that I love. It's funny how brides always contact me for styling tips and even though she panicked about her shoes which she didn't like. I suggested she try the Badgley Mischka bridal line and she found some awesome blue satin heels with jewel embellishment details on the back. Her custom 2 piece dress was made by Alexandra Grecco. I thought the two piece detachable bustled skirt was a perfect mix of island and wedding chic. The bridal gown overlay was made by Maggie Soterro. I loved how during the ceremony the skirt had the beautiful 3 dimensional floral hem but then during the reception it was sleek look because the she was able to remove the floral overlay to dance the night away in. I loved how very fitting it was that she chose to wear Goddess locs 💇🏾for her big day and they were beautifully done by Hair By Woo. It was the perfect style and easy to manage during her many activities on the island. As the bride would say her makeup 💄 was beat for the gwads lol Seriously though despite a last minute cancelation her makeup was flawless and done by Jamaican MakeupNanny Artistry by Danielle. There were so many great fashionable moments and I hope I was able to convey just a little of the magic that happened at the #HarrisSquared wedding. So please enjoy the beautiful images captured by Jamaican Photographer, Audley Green.
